About Me

Hi there!

I’m Jack The Dreamer.

Thank you for stopping by.

My goal for this blog is to help you  reach financial independence without all the frenetic hecticness that Type-A “hustlers” suggest.

Life can be, and should be, much simpler and more enjoyable than what it currently is.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

I’m a recovering Type-A personality who now tries to be more calm, peaceful, and open-minded about life, minimalism, and financial independence.

This quote by Lao Tzu reflects the philosophy I’m working on:

“Nature does not rush yet everything is accomplished.”

Slowing down, breathing deeper, and living life more meaningfully.

I want to share with you the good, the bad, and the ugly of my side-hustles and minimalism experiments so you can benefit and learn from my mistakes.

About This Blog’s Charitable Mission

I aim to donate a portion of this blog’s proceeds to “Trash Heroes.”

They’re a non-profit that’s near and dear to my heart because volunteers help pick up garbage and clean up areas all over Thailand.

I aim to support the Khao Lak chapter located in the southern beach town of Khao Lak, Thailand.

I had the pleasure of experiencing first-hand how cleaning up garbage from the streets and the beaches can improve local marine wildlife.

Save Sea Turtles

For years, sea turtles would get caught in broken fishing nets and die.

Other sea turtles would eat plastics thinking it was food.

The plastics create blockages in their stomachs and they die.

In the two years since Trash Heroes started cleaning up garbage along the streets and beaches of Khao Lak, one leatherback sea turtle, the biggest of the sea turtles and endangered, came to shore and laid eggs.

This was the first time in 10 years that it’s happened in Khao Lak.

Eco-Bricks For Orphans

They also create eco-bricks, which are plastic bottles packed with plastics and other garbage.

Instead of being burned or buried in landfills, reclaimed garbage packed in eco-bricks are used as building material for houses, yard projects, you name it.

Currently, Trash Heroes is sending their eco-bricks to an orphanage in Thailand to help with the infrastructure there.

Once you connect yourself to a purpose that’s bigger than yourself, life takes on a whole different meaning.

I used to care only about making as much money as possible from my blog for the main purpose of making more money.

But now, I see that I can use my blog as a force for positive change that’s greater than myself.

I imagine a future where our children have clean beaches to frolic on, clean oceans to swim in, and marine wildlife to admire and learn from.

“If not us, who? If not now, when?”

It starts with us. Here. Now.
