What it means to live in New York: part 1

For those of you who don’t live in New York, here’s what it means to live in New York, from a New Yorker who has lived here his entire life.

It means constantly being tired. It means being around other people who are just as tired as you, if not more tired. It also means being around people who aren’t even that tired, but complain about being tired anyways, because that’s what New Yorkers do.

It means being around so many cute girls (and guys) from all around the world.

It means spending lots of money on inconsequential things because you got to keep up with the Joneses.

It means thinking you know anything about New York. It makes you tougher, living in New York.

It doesn’t make you rich to live in New York, unless you’re like on Wall Street or something. Rich people get rich first, then they come live here. Or even better, they don’t come live here. The Estate tax is way cheaper in other states when you die than here. Or you were born into a rich family in New York and you live here because you were born and raised here.

The tax is high. Go somewhere else where your dollar will go further.

Jack the Dreamer, over and out!
